Richard Forliano shared his knowledge of Anne Hutchinson.  Anne was born in England in 1591.  She married William Hutchinson in 1612 and had 15 children.  In 1634 they followed Protestant Minister John Cotton to Massachusetts Bay Colony.  There she shared her own interpretations of Cotton’s teachings, against the precepts of the governing ministers.  Hutchinson was found guilty of heresy and banished.  She and most of her family was killed in 1643 in a massacre by Native Americans in what is now the  Pelham Bay area.

The Hutchinson River Parkway is the only parkway in the US named after a woman.
