Dear fellow Rotarians-
Forget our usual format because this week’s meeting was
different. We had a joint
meeting with the Briarcliff Rotary Club in Briarcliff. It was
probably a good thing that
Tommy didn’t have to cook for us, because he would have had a
low turnout. Rotarians
that attended the meeting in Briarcliff were Seth and Joan,
Charla, June, Helen, Chief,
Mary F, Trevor, Ron, Dr. A., and Rene. Because it was going
to be a three day weekend,
many of our club members were away.
The luncheon was the culmination of the Pleasantville
–Briarcliff football game that was
held on September 26th. School
Superintendents, Principals, Athletic Directors and
football coaches were there from both school districts. The
shining moment was when the
MVP’S for both teams were presented with plaques, followed by
the presentation of the
football trophy to Pleasantville.
Earlier in the day, Seth, Marlene, Trevor, and Rene helped
June hand out smoke alarms
to the kindergarten children at the Bedford Road School. This
followed a presentation
given earlier in the week by members of the fire department.
